LINDSBORG—The Swedes volleyball team was back in action today with a conference contest with York College. Bethany swept the Panthers 3-0.

The first set was back and forth throughout the match with each team picking up small runs to keep things even. Bethany was able to pull ahead late in the game to take a 25-22 win. The Swedes were able to use their momentum from the first set to power through the second and take an easy 25-12 win. The third game both fought it out, back and forth once again. Each team once again were able to use their small runs to push a few points at a time. However, neither team was able to gain the momentum so it came down the final points of the set. Once again, the Swedes were able to pull ahead and take the set 25-21, taking the match 3-0.

Paola Sanabria-Lopez, junior hitter, and Georgia Romine-Black, junior hitter, led the team with 14 and 11 kills, respectively. Ivona Vojvodic, senior setter, commanded the Swedes offense with 32 assists. Defensively, Haley Reifsteck, junior libero, led things with 15 digs while Natalie Tricoche, junior passer, had 10 digs. Tricoche and Jordan Valentine, sophomore middle, also each had two service aces.

The Swedes return to the court on Wednesday, Oct. 16 travelling to Sterling, Kan. to take on the Sterling College Warriors. This conference matchup is set to begin at 7 p.m.
