WELLINGTON – Fresh off its home invitational last weekend, the McPherson High School volleyball team went off to dominate Wellington (25-14, 25-19) and Mulvane High School (25-13, 25-16) in a triangular on Tuesday

"Wellington and Mulvane have a higher-tempo offense, which gives our blockers more time to set the block," Bullpups Head Coach Christy Doile said. "I would expect our blockers to get more blocks, and they did exactly that. We had five different kids with multiple stuff blocks."

Rhian Swanson (14), Cassie Cooks (13) and Katie Berg (12) were the top three hitters as each was one kill apart. Doile was pleased with all three of them as they almost had a perfect night in keeping their errors at a minimum. Brette Doile had another productive night with 38 assists, two aces and 12 digs.

We shared our offense a bit more, we fed a few more sets to Lauren Labertew, and she put a ball down for us." Rhian Swanson stepped out of her comfort zone and felt at home, serving," Doile said.

With the two wins, the Bullpups improve to 26-10 on the season. McPherson will have one more triangular next week at Winfield.
