LEAVENWORTH—The McPherson College volleyball team was beaten in a close away match Tuesday night against the University of St. Mary's College, 17-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-10, 6-15.
The Bulldogs were extremely active at the net for the entire match, totaling 58 kills, but the Spires were more successful as they accrued 68. Alicia Hall was especially sharp leading the squad with 15 kills. Errors at the net plagued the Bulldogs as they finished with 32 and managed a kill percentage of .129.
Jamie Siess dug the ball frequently and effectively finishing with 29 digs, and Morgan Abbott provided great balls for striking pacing the Bulldogs with 24 assists. The Bulldogs took the match to a fifth set but couldn't get into a scoring rhythm. The valiant effort brings the Bulldogs record to 12-11 and 4-5 in KCAC play.
Kaitlyn Heinis had 21 assists tonight and went over 2200 assists for her career.

"It was a hard fought match in a tough environment. I am proud of the way we battled and worked," Cory Cahill said."We will get there, this group has so much more to give."
The Bulldogs will return to action Saturday, Nov. 2nd at 1 p.m. in York College.
