CANTON — Canton-Galva hosts Lebo on Friday looking to extend its winning streak to 10 games while advancing to the next round of the 8-Man Division I Playoffs in the process.

The Eagles will face Lebo, who is coming off a 58-8 win over Goessel last week. Canton-Galva dispatched Chase County 46-0 last week.

Lebo finished third in a tough District 3. Three teams in the district finished 7-2 or better. Lebo, 7-2, has a 50-0 loss to Madison (9-0) to go along with a 52-42 loss to Valley Falls (2-7).

The Wolves are currently on a four-game winning streak.

The key to stopping Lebo is stopping junior quarterback Devan McEwen. McEwen has 1,601 passing yards and has completed 64 percent of his passes. Perhaps most impressively, McEwen has thrown 24 touchdowns and only five interceptions.

McEwen also leads the Wolves with 518 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.

McEwen does a good job of spreading the ball to different receivers. Five different Wolves have at least 10 catches, led by Kyle Reese who has 499 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Additionally, six different Wolves have at least two different receiving touchdowns.

Junior Andrew Bailey leads Lebo with 81 tackles. Senior Kaden Ott leads the team with seven tackles for loss.

Canton-Galva hasn’t allowed a touchdown in five straight games. The Eagles have recorded shutouts in seven of nine games.

The winner of this game will face the winner of South Central (9-0) and Argonia-Attica (5-4) in the quarterfinals.
