Teutons end season with quarterfinal loss to Plainville
INMAN — After back-to-back playoff wins, the season is over for the Inman High School football team.
The Teutons could not keep up with Plainville, now 10-1, during Friday’s 53-26 loss. Inman went into halftime trailing only 21-12 and even scored coming out of halftime to bring the game within two, but it was all Plainville from there. The Cardinals outscored the Teutons 32-7 from that moment on.
Inman ends its season with a 6-5 record. Plainville will move on to play Smith Center next Friday.
Little River can’t keep up in shootout with Wichita County
LEOTI — Despite a furious comeback, the Little River High School football team fell on the road to Wichita County High School 74-38 in the 8-Man Division I Quarterfinals.
Little River trailed 32-8 at one point, but scored 22 consecutive points to bring the game to within two points. Wichita County flexed its muscles from there, scoring the next 36 points before Little River responded with a touchdown.
Little River was led by Jayden Garrison, who had 227 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Little River had its nine-game winning streak snapped with the loss. Little River will finish with a 9-2 record, while Wichita County (10-1) travels to St. Francis (11-0) next Friday.
