Traffic Tuesday:How to get a free Thanksgiving dinner

Stacy Snyder
McPherson Police Department

Since 1995, McPherson Community Thanksgiving Inc. has served free Thanksgiving meals to the McPherson Community — and that tradition will continue Nov. 26, with changes due to COVID-19.

This year the process of serving the meals will be different — the doors of the community building will not be open and there will not be group dining. Due to the COVID Pandemic, this year's meals will be served drive-thru style. Meal service will begin at 11:30 am on Thanksgiving Day.

Those wanting to receive a meal are asked to enter the parking lot of Journey Church in the 200 blk of E. Euclid off of Elm St. Streets will be blocked off during the event with traffic flow moving south on Ash St. towards the McPherson Community Building distribution area where you will receive meals without leaving your vehicle.
