MCPHERSON – It was all McPherson from the opening tip on Tuesday as the Lady Bullpups buried rival Buhler in scoring a 67-18 home victory.

McPherson's Ella Schmid (10) left and Kassidy Beam (3) high five during their game against Buhler earlier this season. The Bullpups have now beaten Buhler twice — both times by more than 40 points.

McPherson powered out to a whopping 21-point, 23-2, advantage by the end of the first quarter and then put another 20 on the board in the second to take a 33-point, 43-10 lead into the halftime break before cruising by outscoring the Lady Crusaders 24-9 in the final two quarters in earning the final 49-point win.

A few stats that sparkled for the Lady Bullpups included connecting on 16-of-18 on their free throws and making 22 steals on their way to forcing Buhler into 29 turnovers.

Leading the offense for McPherson was Grace Pyle who put up 17 of her game high 27 points in the first half while also pulling down a team leading seven rebounds and grabbing three steals.

Kassidy Beam, along with Pyle, hit on three three-pointers on her way to putting 15 points in the scorebook while both Peyton Howard and Ella Schmid each chipped in with seven.

Howard had a strong game as she also grabbed six rebounds, blocked a shot, and made a pair of steals while Emma Malm recorded five rebounds, made five steals, and dished out three assists.

The game was also ‘Think Pink’ night for Women and Children Combating Cancer and the Lady Bullpups wore their pink uniforms and helped raise over $2,750 for the event.

With the victory the Lady Bullpups moved to 7-0 in league action and 13-3 overall as they now prep for their final road game of the season on Friday when they travel to Winfield.

In the Junior Varsity game, McPherson hammered Buhler 65-25 as 10 Lady Pups put points in the scorebook led by Madi Moors and Emily Whorton who each scored 11.

The Lady Pup ninth-grade team also scored a lopsided win, 49-15, as Jayla McLeod, Reanna Eilrich, and Alex Romero all hit for double digits with 13, 12 and 10 points each.
