Beck receives Merit Scholarship

Elyria Christian graduate Joshua Beck received some good news earlier this week.
Beck was informed that he’s a National Hispanic Recognition Scholar from Wichita State University.
WSU is investing in the future of high-achieving students by providing a four-year $50,000 scholarship. Students can use the scholarship for tuition and fees or on-campus room and board.
The National Hispanic Recognition Program is also coordinated by the College Board and selects the scholars based on their PSAT/ NMSQT performance and other factors. The top two percent of scorers who self-reported as at least one-quarter hispanic.
Beck was Elyria Christian’s valedictorian and participated in band, choir, Scholar’s Bowl, cross country, soccer, and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Beck will major in mechanical engineering and is the son of Xochitl and Roger Beck.
