Southeast comes from behind for win

MCPHERSON – After trailing much of the game, Wichita Southeast came from behind to score a 9-1 run late in the fourth quarter to score a four-point, 45-41 win over Manhattan in the Mid-America Classic in McPherson.

The win gives Southeast a 1-1 record as they finish pool play while Manhattan will play unbeaten Dodge City on Friday.

For nearly the whole game, no more than four points ever separated the two teams until Southeast took command in the final three minutes to earn the victory.

Jaila Harding led the Lady Golden Buffalos with 11 points while Tatem Adair just missed double digits with nine.

Manhattan was led by Avery Larson who connected on four three-pointers on her way to scoring 16 points, while Paige Chauncy chipped in with 12.

Manhattan held a large edge in the paint by out rebounding Southeast 27-18 but countered that by also turning the ball over 23 times.
